Golfshake to Host Odyssey Golf Experience

This month, Golfshake is handing three keen golfers the enviable opportunity to participate in an Odyssey Golf Experience, consisting of a putter custom fitting, a masterclass on the greens, and the chance to play two renowned golf courses.

Running over two days, the Odyssey Experience begins on Thursday 27th June 2019 at Northampton Golf Club, where our golfers will gain invaluable insights behind their putting stroke with a custom fit session, followed by a masterclass from PGA Professional Nick Soto. During the afternoon, with this fresh knowledge behind them, they will take the short journey across to the revered Northamptonshire County Golf Club, which has been a host to Open Championship Regional Qualifying, such is its quality and standing within the area.

The great Harry S. Colt designed Northamptonshire County, opened for play in 1910 and is considered among the Top 100 in England, with only minor alterations being made since, the most notable of which by James Braid in the late 1940s.

Just a month later - on Monday 22nd July 2019 - the three golfers will join us for a follow-up day to gain an understanding of how successfully the fitting and lessons have been embedded within their game. This will feature a round of golf at the widely acclaimed Notts Golf Club, where they can test their newfound skills on the greens.

Known as Hollinwell, this natural and beautifully framed course is ranked alongside the finest in the British Isles, and is unquestionably one of the finest inland layouts in the country, invigorating to play and flowing with character and charm.

Past Odyssey Experiences

Last year, we took three golfers to the Home of Golf, St Andrews, for an Odyssey Experience at the spiritual heart of the game in Scotland. Here, they played Fairmont St Andrews and the iconic New Course at St Andrews, in addition to undergoing a putter custom fitting, receiving a masterclass from Steve North of the St Andrews Links Academy, and exercising their talents on the spectacular Himalayas Putting Course, just yards from the legendary Old Course.

During subsequent months, we tracked the progress of our three golfers, following their story and reporting on improvements that they had found with their newly custom-fitted putters. This was an illuminating adventure for each golfer, as the guys received detailed information and analysis on the mechanics of the putting stroke, learned a great deal about their own technique, with the process ultimately identifying the correct putter that was tailored for them.

And now, three more golfers will follow in their footsteps and begin their journey to better putting with the Odyssey Experience.
