FootJoy Tour-S Review
Most of you will know by now that we recently headed over to Moor Allerton Golf Club to test out some of the best 2018/19 winter golf shoes. Along with a lovely bunch of Golfshake readers and ambassadors, we took the shoes out onto the course and have been trying them out ever since.
Our latest review has been put together by Golfshake Ambassador, Mel Davies, who took the FootJoy Tour S for a spin. Mel is a regular golfer and has been trying out the shoes for the past few weeks, so, it will be interesting to hear what he has to say about them. See Mel's thoughts below!

The Best Performance Golf Shoes of 2018
Tech Specs
We know that FootJoy are always looking to innovate and push the boundaries when it comes to creating golf shoes, and the Tour-S reflects this. The brand understand the huge part that footwear can play in a golf swing and by including their PowerPlate™ outsole in this design, they are ensuring that golfers can efficiently use their power throughout the swing whilst maintaining stability. The upper of the shoe is created from high-quality leather which makes for a really smart and traditional look, whilst also waterproofing the shoe. Furthermore, FootJoy’s ComforTongue™ and SecureCollar™ technologies work together to help the shoe to fit perfectly around the foot, ensuring the wearer is comfortable throughout their round.
Looks
The shoes are modern looking, yet they still come across as a pair that could be worn by all golfers regardless of age or style preferences.
Feel
From the moment I put these on they literally did “fit like a glove”. Having been fitted for a pair of FootJoy shoes, I was expecting them to be a great fit and I wasn’t disappointed. I played 18-holes in them straight from the box and throughout the round, my feet felt great.
Performance
Over the last few weeks, the weather has not been brilliant and the course conditions have been fairly wet underfoot. Despite this, I have not lost my footing at all, regardless of the shot that I was playing. When playing winter golf, it’s really nice to feel confident enough to commit fully to every shot, knowing that my feet will stay firmly in place throughout the swing.
Pros
Great looking shoes that provide a firm base for the swing. Light, comfortable and very stable.
Cons
The £199 price tag may put some people off, but, as they say, “you get what you pay for!”
Bottom Line
The fit, feel and most importantly, performance are the main factors that would encourage me to select these shoes for winter. Modern, stylish and versatile enough to be worn with any outfit, these really are some of the best shoes on the market. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a quality, high-performance golf shoe.
