Callaway Reveals New Mack Daddy 4 Tactical Wedges

Callaway has revealed its new Mack Daddy 4 Tactical Wedge, which represents a successful collaboration between Roger Cleveland and Callaway R&D to create a wedge that delivers supreme performance courtesy of bringing together technology with quality components.

Visually striking with a new, standout military green ‘raw’ PVD finish, the overall ‘Tactical’ look is enhanced with a Black PVD Face, milled Black Medallions that affect CG placement, a black limited-edition True Temper Tour Issue 115 Shaft and Tactical Lamkin UTX Grip, with contrasting green detailing.

Featuring a more compact head shape, a straighter and tighter leading edge and slightly more offset, the Mack Daddy 4 Tactical Wedges are engineered from 8620 carbon steel to deliver maximum spin, control, and pure contact from tight lies, and employ the tried-and-tested Groove-in-Groove technology seen in standard MD4 Wedges.

Groove-in-Groove technology creates Micro-Positive surface roughness, milled into flat parts of the wedge face, featuring three raised micro-ridges, extending the length of the hitting area, with micro-grooves between the ridges that help grab the ball’s cover to significantly increase spin.

A 16-groove configuration includes an extra ‘Nip-It’ groove near the leading edge for added control, especially on short shots. All Mack Daddy 4 Tactical grooves are also 100% inspected with a digital stylus and special software to ensure the tightest tolerance within the rules of the game. 

They are available in two grind options to enhance versatility, smooth turf interaction and solid feel:

S Grind - Medium-width sole with slight chamber at the back and moderate heel relief to keep the leading edge low through impact, promoting solid contact on open-faced shots. (10° bounce)

X Grind - Our newest grind featuring a narrow, high-bounce crescent sole, with the low point near the front. Excellent for moderate-to-steep attack angles and medium-to-soft course conditions. (12° bounce)

Available in 16 loft-bounce combinations, including six lofts - 50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58° and 60° - MD4 Tactical Wedges are offered in both right and left hand options and will be available in stores across Europe from September 21st 2018.
