Bagboy TriSwivel II Push Trolley Review

By: | Tue 03 Jan 2017

Golfshake ambassador Andrew Picken recently, November 2016, tested out the Bagboy TriSwivel II Push Trolley which is a compact four wheel push trolley packed with features.  Find out how he got on.

What they say

Swivel Tech Technology allows the front wheel to swivel 360° offering the ultimate in manoeuvrability. Swivel wheel can be locked into place by engaging the remote Swivel Lock Out when walking hills or long distances. It folds away easily for compact storage, is lightweight and will take either a cart or stand bag.

Bagboy TriSwivel II Push Trolley Test

First impressions

At first glance I didn’t like the look of the Tri fold trolley as I had been spoilt by testing the Quad XL. The Triswivel looks less sturdy, but I was soon proved wrong. In fact, the Triswivel is easier to manoeuvre in semi rough and around trees.

It requires almost no strength to push as the single front wheel finds its own path of least resistance. A major feature in its favour is its ability to fold into a very small size, making it easy to lift in and out of a any car boot.

Using it with the Revolver bag is a breeze. There are no fiddly buttons or hinges, and the mechanism is as simple and efficient as it gets - it goes up and down in seconds.

Having three wheels also makes it extremely manoeuvrable. The brake is handle mounted and much easier to use than many trolleys that feature footbrakes.

Feel

This is an incredibly light yet strong trolley. Like its four-wheel cousin, the height adjustment is simple, making the trolley very easy to use. I am also a big fan of the handle grips and how easy everything is to dry off after a good soaking. And I was impressed with the stability of the unit.

There are plenty of storage portals but I missed the bespoke phone holder that features on the Quad model. The plastic cover gives good protection for the phone but I really liked the Quad wheel feature as a number of phone apps now have bluetooth connectivity and provide an aerial plan of a hole - having it displayed in front of you is a real benefit.

The umbrella port works easily and effectively, ensuring you, your bag and your clubs remain dry. Choose which side suits you best when fitting the umbrella holder.

Performance

I liked this trolley. It perfectly complements the Revolver golf bag which it holds firmly in place.

This is an easy to use trolley and I would recommend you consider it if you are in the market for a push type trolley.

The build quality is good. It is light and easy to push due to the height adjustment facility on the handle. The freewheeling front wheel is cleverly designed and balanced, making it incredibly easy to use in rough terrain that would normally be avoided with a push trolley.

Dear reader, I must point out that I deliberately put myself through the turmoil of pushing through jungle-deep rough and deeply wooded areas on your behalf.  This trolley and bag combination is probably the best push trolley I have used in this terrain.

Pros

Small when folded. Very easy to operate. Light to get into and out of the car boot. Extremely stable and well built. The braking system is also well designed and easy to operate.

Bagboy Triswivel review

The wheels are well made, maintenance free and light. It was easy to clean and operate. The ergonomics are excellent with lots of storage in all the right places. This has been made by golfers for golfers.

This trolley will suit any player due to its ease of use and lack of maintenance issues.

It is well built, well designed and I would happily use it long term. The colour scheme is attractive and functional. It cleans easily despite some really heavy ground conditions when tested.

Cons

None.

The phone holder featured in the Quad XL cannot be added to the TriSwivel as this is the place where the switch for locking the front wheel  is housed. But it is a small price to pay for a feature that comes into its own on a long hill or incline.

Bottom Line

I was sorry to have to return this item after testing as I would happily have given it a season-long test. It will suit all levels of golfer as it easily took my Tour size bag and several other brands were carried just as easily.

Highly Recommended.
