What The Club Says
The lack of houses in the course, 36 holes, its privileged location on the bank of the Guadiana River, the fantastic views to Portugal and to the mouth of the river, the little distance to the beach, all the comforts and the complementary offer of the Resort, make this club a golfers paradise.
The West Course is a long course, over 7,300 yards long of American style, with very wide fairways, and exquisite shaping of the greens, with spectacular views to Portugal and to the Guadiana River.
The East Course, that will be opened in February 2008, is quite long as well, with more than 6,900 yards, is very well integrated in the slope towards the salt marshes of the Guadiana River, and with views to the sea and the town of Ayamonte. It is a more technical course than the West one.

Slow round
Have enjoyed playing Isla Canela links and old course, though prefer links.Easy walking course, normally 3 1/2- 4 hours, but today stuck behind very slow members, 3 hours fir front nine.
All greens were being sprayed, we were not told when we checked in, the guy spraying said it was a toxic chemical!

Slow round

The east course has been closed for 10 years.
The west course is now Valle Guardiana links by Isla canela golf,
The two sets of 9 holes have been reversed and the stroke indexes revised.

viva espania
Just recently been taken over by the isla canela hotel group who are working very hard to bring the course back to good shape after some months of neglect. Greens have all been relayed but play true.Reviewer Rating

Not as good as it used to be
Since the new ownership it has made a bit of a comeback but still large parts of the coarse not in great condition also a bit over priced.Reviewer Rating

Welcoming helpful staff.Nice large terrace with majestic views of course and across the river in to Portugal.Approx 80 euros for 2 including buggy is an absolute steal.
