The Golf course is 6.434 meters (3.297+3.137). It is pair of 72, composed by six pares of three, six pares of four and six pares of five. The first part of the course is longer and characterized by the amplitude of pares of four, mainly because most of them are more than 395 meters, although the wind is not so strong and the game is done smoothly and downhill. The shorter of the holes of pares of four, is the 4th (397 meters since the professionals take away), with the lagoons acting as limits on the left of the green.
Severiano Ballesteros has define Porto Santo Golf :
“It is a wonderful course for its view but difficult due to its path, modern because of measurements and pairs distributions, attractive because of the techniques, wide because of its dimensions and natural. It is, without any doubt a course that will attract many visitors, fulfilled with unique characteristics of Europe, specially the climate that makes it possible to play golf all year around”.

What The Club Says

Porto Santo golf course is located on the Porto Santo island just 15 minutes? flight time from Madeira. This is the first course to be opened on the island, was designed by the great Seve Ballesteros and is becoming an automatic addition to every Madeira golfing itinerary. Featuring two contrasting loops of nine it is a course of variety, beauty and challenges. Set along the coastline, it provides superb views out across the Atlantic and the island interior. Rolling fairways lead onto undulating greens and with a number of water hazards this is a course that really requires you to think about each shot before playing it.

Excellent Sevvi designed course with lots of risk/reward shots. I mostly seemed to only risk. Spectacular holes around 13/14/15. However, course is looking tatty around the edges and all fairways were a bit weed strewn. Needs more people to play it so the course can keep running. Well worth the challenge

Lovely challenging Seve Course - especially the 13th, 14th and 15th out by the rugged coast line. Well worth a vist to this Island just to play this course.

Fantastic Course, Fantastic Facilities, really recommend playing the course when on the island, try to play when it's not so windy, as some of the holes dependent upon the wind direction aer nye impossible to make par.

Great course and can only get better over time as it matures and developes more character. Fairways and greens in good condition.

Played here three weeks ago ad the course was in fantastic condition. The course is one of the hardest I have played and it was very windy too. The views are breathtaking, especially on the back nine, where three of the holes follow the rugged coastline. Great value for only €94 including the ferry trip from Funchal.
