What The Club Says

This is a resort course that has two sets of 9 holes and an 18 hole Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course. The 9 hole courses are the Resort Course and the Academy Course. The overall layout of the course is quite flat, with trees lining the fairways. The fairways are wide enough for a few stray drives but there are a number of holes that will require a bit more accuracy.

Needs some proper maintenance

Championship course was good layout, fairways very dry, bear in places, not allowed to water, but greens were watered but just need work. Resort course was a joke should not be open.

Worn

The course felt very worn from overuse. However there were some nice holes.

Quite possibly the worst course I've played in my life. Greens in atrocious condition, fairways very unkept and barely discernible from the rough. Penina should be embarrassed to offer this as part of any golfing package.

Very wet but decent all things considering.

We have had horrendous rain here of late as such the course was just about playable. Noticeably a couple of local courses have closed. Back 9 was drier than the front 9. We had a slow round and had to miss 2 holes out as we had 2 four-balls in front of us ( we were 2 in a buggy ) who didn't offer us through. But the greens are excellent and are all year round. Just at present the course like many others is suffering with the rain. Staff as always excellent and welcoming.

Great Course

A very good course that is worth a visit on your Portugal trip. Not easy, a good test for all players.
