What The Club Says
This superb course opened in 2003 and is one of the latest to open on the Algarve. Despite its young age, it feels surprisingly mature, a characteristic enhanced by the planting of 500 olive trees. Morgado features views of the Monchique Mountains and is set amongst valleys, rivers and woodland. With gently undulating fairways, deep bunkers and large tees and greens, Morgado is an excellent choice when travelling to the Algarve.

Great course, one to play
Played this in March; great course, large fast greens. Very open, wide fairways in good condition so good for all handicaps. Pace was good, no hold ups, and clubhouse drinks/food were excellent. To top the round off, playing partner had an eagle on the par 4 18th, so icing on the cake.Reviewer Rating

Great value golf in the Algarve
Despite ongoing maintenance on the greens they still ran pretty true and fast. After a prolonged dry spell (7 months) the ball still stopped in front of the green without releasing.Reviewer Rating

Enjoyable course
This is a very good course, which was only spoiled by too many half-built structures around the whole complex. It seems the developers may have run out of money or went bust, and there seems to be no-one to finish off the projects. That said, it may have just been very quiet when we played this course in January as part of a bock booking for 9 players. The course is eminently walkable - I'm 65 and carried a full set of clubs and all my gear without finding it tiring.Starting with the Clubhouse - this was quite small inside, but with a great outdoor seating area to enjoy a post-round beer, and the food and service was very good.
As it was the end of January, the course was quiet, but we were following some very slow scandinavians which put a slight downer on proceedings. There were a couple of ladies in our 3 three balls, it was noted that there are a couple of on-course toilets at holes 6 and 14, which I have rarely seen in the Algarve.
The greens were quick and running very true, but a number of our party did find them difficult to read. Fairways were in good order, although personally, I couldn't really tell where the fairways ended and the rough began - probably just the time of year we visited.
Whilst there is water around the course, it shouldn't really come into play unless you're particularly wayward. The bunkers seemed to be well stocked with sand, although I managed to avoid them all for a change, so I could be wrong here.
I can't really speak for the cost, as this was played as part of a 7 nights, 5 rounds deal which included not only the courses, but transfers from the hotel.
Overall, I enjoyed the course and would happily play again.
