What The Club Says

Le Golf National L'Albatros:
- This is a real gem of a French golf course where good course management is the key to a successful round. Combining the traditional feel of a links with the modern features of target golf, it is now the host of the French Open and offers a truly memorable 18 holes. The greens are the biggest challenge as they have been expertly shaped around water features and sprinkled with bunkers. This track requires you to use every club in your bag making this a test of versatility as well as accuracy.

Le Golf National L'Aigle:
- Designed with all golfers in mind, this course will test all who play. The wide fairways allow you to make use of your driver, especially as there aren't too many bunkers about. Like its counterpart, it has a links feel to it and the hillocks and tufts of high grass can cause a few problems. Overall it is an enjoyable round that should allow you to play to handicap.

Le Golf National near Paris is home to multiple courses, with the Albatros—host of the 2018 Ryder Cup—standing out as a challenging yet rewarding layout known for its beauty and demanding design. The Aigle provides a slightly shorter but enjoyable alternative, offering variety for different levels of play. Visitors highlight the smooth, creatively sloped greens, strong course conditions, and attentive staff, making for a memorable overall experience.

Nice to have played it but won't hurry back

Nice to have played the course that I watched so closely back in 2018. Great course, and a tough course, particularly when wet and blowing a gale. Won't rush back though.

Course in good condition considering the appalling weather conditions during time of play.
Reception OK but not as good as other Ryder Cup venues.

If you get the chance!!

Went for a long weekend staying at the on course hotel. The hotel is very friendly, rooms sufficient, likened to a Premier Inn. 19th Hope was very inviting with excellent food and drink. The Albatross course is everything you expect and more. Starting and finishing with water dominated holes. If you get chance go as you will only listen to your mates talking about it for weeks after.

Amazing Experience

Played both courses here but the venue itself is great. Staff always on hand to help where possible and the Ryder Cup experience side of things is great to take in.

Eagle Course

Fairly forgiving off the tee but well placed bunkers and hazards. Its quite open to the elements so if the wind picks up can be fairly tough but it is a great warm up course for the Albatross. The greens were superb.

Albatross

Well what can you say? What a wonderful experience to walk in the footsteps of some of you golfing hero's.

The 1st and 2nd hole are great fun and the closing 4 holes are also tough but really good fun. You will lose a few balls round here and it cant be difficult but don't let that put you off, just take it for what it is - a great golfing experience.

The best greens I have putted on!!.

Eagle - nice pleasant course

Decent enough course with a varied layout and set-up for play by all. Condition was well kept, fairways nice, greens fast and rough wasn't too punishing for any wayward shots. The greens were nicely sloped and fairly tricky but super fast which is always good.

This is a course worth playing if you are on a trip and also playing the Ryder Cup Albatross course with enough variery to keep it enjoyable plus not to difficult to be enjoyed by all and give you some confidence before playing the Albatross!

Tough but fantastic course!

Albatross course was simply amazing, but incredibly tough at the moment with the Ryder Cup prep underway. Very unforgiving so take plenty of balls with you. Well worth playing though, a real experience to treasure!
