Consistently rated as one of the finest golf courses in Europe (and voted number one in Europe by the Peugot Golf Guide 2002/2003), this woodland layout was designed by the eminent American, Robert von Haage. Featuring water on 12 of the 18 holes, Les Bordes has gained a reputation as one of the toughest, yet most enjoyable courses around. Measuring 7,062 yards over hilly terrain and with the aforementioned plethora of water hazards, it's no surprise that course record is just one under par and is held by a former Ryder Cup player - Jean van de Velde.

I play the vast majority of my golf in the UK but spent a weekend here back in 2005 (ish) and it is simply the best course I've ever played by some distance....and in that I include Wentworth and Sunningdale in that...
