What the club says: Sea, sand, and pine needles in Bordeaux country: The perfect golfing holiday!
An internationally renowned course which is both a severe test of golfing skills and a pleasure on the eye. Like some of the famous Florida courses, Gujan makes the most of its natural environment of pine forest and lakes, to which have been added bunkers of brilliant white sand.

Designed by the same French architect as my home course (Bauge in Anjou) the layout is typical of him with great use of trees and water (and there is a lot of that!) and lots to keep you interested. However I played in October on a beautiful sunny day after what has been a long hot summer - and the course showed it. Fairways were very poor with large bare patches although I noticed watering systems were in place. The greens were adequate and, it has to said, very large so watch your distances. The staff were very friendly and efficient and I wish I could rate the course higher. All in all a bit tired after a long season.
