Andy Crawford recently played the Wheatlands new club Open. The event was excellently organised and the course was in superb condition. Players were commenting on the different and challenging layout and that each green played differently. The hard work that went in to the event showed how well the course has improved over recent months. The friendliness from club house and shop through to ground's persons etiquette in play are refreshing and welcoming. Thanks for an enjoyable tournament, loads of smiles at the presentation ceremony, we will be back next year with a works team and so should more companies combining a break with this tournament is a great idea.

There is at least one hole which you cannot hit the green without fading the ball, which on a par three course is daft. Way too expensive as well.

Wheatlands golf course has 9 holes , each one being a par 3. It is far from easy , I heard it said a visiting pro was 11 over for the 18 holes. Don't know how much truth is it that though, sounds a bit far fetched to me as I was 11 over for the 9. The greens are treacherous , very fast and undulating. There are couple of steep hills to climb .
