What the club says: A unique island golf course surrounded by the mighty River Suir and accessed by private ferry. Designed by Des Smyth, Waterford Castle Golf Club sits on a 310 acre island enclosed by water. The course runs to 6,231 yards and has four major water hazards, on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 16th holes. There is even a Swilken Bridge on the 3rd hole. The views from the course are superb and the island can also boast a plethora of wildlife and fauna.

A lovely course with challenging but fair holes. Tree lined fairways with their fair share of bunkers but not too much heavy rough so balls are normally found even though it normally means a low shot under branches to get back in play. The par 3?s are all pretty long and water comes into play on three or four holes. The club has a driving range and putting and chipping practise areas. Everyone seemed friendly and facilities for a drink and food are good.

Excellent Course
Challenging but enjoyable - very well kept greens and fairways. Trees and water always keep you ok your toes and the safe shots play a big part to get a good score.Reviewer Rating

Challenging course particular of the blue tees, beautiful scenery with plenty of wildlife. Course always in very good condition with true greens and well maintained Fairways. A pleasure to play

A very enjoyable and challenging course. Greens were in very good condition. Some lovely views over the Waterford countryside.
