John Dunlop
We played there last year and we couldn’t believe how good it was.it’s up there with the best courses in the country, and we can’t wait to play it again.

Hidden Gem
Fantastic course and very friendly staff and members. Course Pro helps out with some tips and if it is windy believe him you need a driver to a Par 3 129 yard hole!! Amazing value for money and a great golf challenge for any golfer!! When you have finished you must have some food as the chef is excellent!!!

Absolutely stunnin!
I have played West Lancs and Formby and Hillside but Silloth is up there with all of those it is absolutely stunning!(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 104 Handicap: 21.2)

Hidden Links Gem
Hidden gem very fair test greens awesome true links hunkering a few blind shots that give it the real authentic links feel. Light breeze seems like a game in exposed tees and fairways but a great links course and test of the golfers ability to adapt.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 82 Handicap: 13.5)

No flat putt!
This is a superb course, challenging & tight in places & uses the contours well to make some really interesting holes. It's in superb condition, the greens run true, but look out for all the slopes & borrows. I don't think there's a flat putt on the course!
The hospitality was good & for ?10 at 7am on Golfnow, unbelievable value. Plus there was no one else out there.
(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 90 Handicap: 12.9)

Tough in the wind
Firstly I have to say this is a superb golf course. A classic links layout of out & back with some stunning holes. The course is superb & the greens are excellent.
A February deal of 18 holes & a two course meal for £35 was superb.
The day we played, it was raining with 30mph winds, which made it really tough, but I loved it. I've got to come back to try it in better weather.

An interesting trip
Playing as visitors on or way back to Manchester from St Andrews we decided to take the detour to Silloth. We stood in the pro-shop for 10 minutes listening to 2 members berate the pro on why visitors shouldn't be allowed to play (before introducing ourselves). To be fair, the pro apologised and gave us a comprehensive overview of the course, local rules & some hints/tips. The course was 'good' overall - not sure it's as good as some of the ratings it gets on various websites, but worth the trip for the views on the front nine.

A Great days golf
?55 for two rounds, who can argue with that! Excellent layout and course condition, although being so dry made the ball run forever.

Well worth taking the time to get here!
Had heard good things about this course and finally made it across. The stand out feature for me was the greens, they were fast and true without a hollow tone, sand or bobble in sight. The rest of the course is true links. Playing the front 9 predominantly away from the clubhouse into a 2/3 club wind is tricky but if you stick with it the back 9 with the wind allows you to score well.Take the time to visit and you’ll be rewarded with a fantastic links golf experience.

Well worth the 2 hour drive
2 hours from Manchester and worth every minute of the drive. The course is exceptional and the greens are better than any I have played this year. The views especially along the coast holes are beautiful.

Amazing course
True gem, well worth the long journey to play. Was October but the course was still in fantastic condition.(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 111 Handicap: 18.9)

Links Gem
Played in late winter, superb conditioning.Definitely recommended. Will return in the summer hopefully.

society weekend trip
Played it on Friday as part of our society weekend away trip and what an absolute pleasurable experience it was. The course was fantastic especially as we caught it on a calm day. There were some cracking holes on it and it made it even trickier with the blind shots to some greens, it was handy we had buggies which afforded us the opportunity to have a quick look at what awaited us at the green, A big thank you must also go to all the staff who made us feel really welcome, with some cracking food as well try the poached eggs and haggis on toast delicious.(played 28-10-17 handicap 13 scored 32 stable ford points)

Lived up to 15 year-old wait to play
Having been highly recommended by a friend many years ago I finally made it to this fairly remote Links course tucked away behind the Lakeland hills. It lived up to its reputation. Tight fariways rolling through sweeping dunes thickly clad in hellish heather. 6 penalty drops/ tee shots proved accuracy off tee and club choice on approaches cirtical, but not always easy in strong wind blowing off the sea. An exhausting but exhilarating challenge. Will definitley not be waiting 15 years more to get back to try again.(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 94 Handicap: 15.6)
