What The Club Says
Nestling below Drumadoon Cliffs at Blackwaterfoot, Shiskine's challenging and picturesque 12-hole layout is truly one of the hidden gems in the world of golf. Founded in 1896, the original nine-hole course was laid out by the famous Willie Fernie of Troon.

Must Play
Shiskine might only be 12 holes, but, 12 holes of utter joy, and golf heaven. This course has to be on everyone’s bucket list. Just get to Arran and play it.Reviewer Rating

Lovely Course, Gorgeous Location
I can't say that everyone is going to be lucky enough to get the same weather I had today, calm and sunny, but this is still worth a trip no matter the weather. There are 7 par 3's and only one par 5 in amongst the twelve holes, but there are some very pretty holes in there, especially at the far at end of the course. There are three blind par 3's where you're just aiming at a pole at the top of a grassy mound, which are probably the most intimidating holes. Depending on the number of tourists walking along the LH side of the 1st fairway, that can also get a bit hairy.
The fairways and tees were mostly in a great condition, although the greens had just been treated so I probably didn't see those at their best. £26 for 12 holes on a short course is bordering on expensive though. I'd certainly play there again.

Gem
Played a twilight round and what an absolutely gorgeous golf course. Many of the holes you play blind and as this was first visit we were unsure of lines to follow etc.
Will definitely return here again.

Small but perfectly formed
Great experience. Some won't like it, but this is golf in its purest original form. 12 holes set out in the land that links the sea/beach with the land. Some great holes, some a bit bland, but scenery amazing and overall a great test. Add in a friendly welcome and a great little club house, then you really can't complain.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 73 Handicap: 6.8)

One of My Favourites
I have played Shiskine on several occasions. A great 12 hole course which will test all aspects of your game. A magnificent setting too. If the wind blows, you will have fun!Reviewer Rating

As for facilities, they have a nice new clubhouse with catering facilities. No bar though. Lockers for visitors and a half decent pro shop.
Orientation could be a bit better - tee boxes are close together and it's not always obvious where the next hole is. Apart from that, it's well worth a visit if you are visiting the island.
