What the club says: Established in 1892, this course features quite stunning views across the Firth of Clyde and onto Argyle from a number of vantage points and is often the talking pint of many visiting golfers to an island known as 'Scotland in Miniature'. The course is quite a challenge, especially if the wind is its usual self - howling.

Now, this is an absolute GEM. a must play if you are on the island of Arran. Probably the best 9 hole course I have ever played. Fabulous course, fairways, tees, greens, immaculate. Cannot praise this place enough. Also views are absolutely incredible. I had never heard of this place, but I will play again. Food also brilliant.

AMAZING

I knew nothing about this course, before arriving on Arran. Shout it from the rooftops people, this is 100% a must play golf course.
Start with breakfast at Frans TeaRoom. Play 9 of the most scenic holes you will play in a lifetime. Have a fantastic lunch, again in the TeaRoom, then go out and enjoy another mind blowing 9 holes after the food has settled. Anyone visiting here, will not be disappointed. No Pro Shop, who cares, no fancy club house, who cares, no practice facilities to speak of, who cares. Just go enjoy golf on a great little course

Very Scenic 9 Holes

Not a long course, from the yellows it's only 1600 yards, but it's one worth considering if you have an hour(ish) to kill and fancy 9 holes. There is some climbing involved, but the view from the 7th tee as you look out down on the Firth of Clyde will make the exercise worth while. As you look upwards from the 2nd tee the view towards Glen Sannox is even better.

As for the course, the greens tend to be small, but there aren't a lot of bunkers and mostly there's a lot of space if you miss them. There are a few holes that cross each other, so you sometimes have to be careful about stray shots. The 9/18th is a fairly tight finish though.

The clubhouse was shut, so I can't really comment on that. There is a practise net that's seen better days, and thats about it as far as practise facilities.

Excellent little nine hole course on the East side of Arran. Many challenging par 3's with picturesque views of the surrounding area.

One of the most scenic courses you will ever play! Great views of mountain range and course has some nice short holes too. A bit crammed in but seems to add to it's charm.

Stunningly beautiful little gem.has no equal in UK for views. Well kept. Deceptively short but difficult to score well on. Clubhouse and general ambience makes it unpretentious but a joy to play on.

Beautiful club, nice clubhouse and friendly people. The uphill is a bit of a challenge, but good for fitness. Lovely holes, well kept.

Very short course with the longest hole at just over 300 yards. So even the par 4s are easily reached in 2. The course is in very good condition both fairways and greens. The views are great from the top of the course. A most enjoyable place to play.

The only draw back is that a number of fairways cross and if the course were to be busy then it could be dangerous.

If you are on Arran then this is a must visit along with Shiskine.

Good enough little nine hole course which remains well kept. There are no long holes so bit of a pitch and putt at times. Hard to find your way around the course initially but ask another played and they can point you in the correct direction. Due to fairways all crossing each other it can be a little time consuming (unsafe?). Some fairways on the upper section of the course are virtually impossible to remain on due to the massive hill slope but the lower end of the course is fairly flat. Views are rather good from the top of the course and excitingly there are signs telling you to beware of the poisonous snakes in the area! Arran seems to have a price fixing scheme re course prices (all are around the £18 mark for a round) regardless of the quality so beware of this before arriving to play.......
