worthy challenge

Enough of a challenge to keep it interesting. Greens being maintained but in good condition. the new 8th green still needs a lot of work, very patchy and bobbly. New fairway work completed on 6 and 18 has made a difference.

First time playing this course.
Front nine was easier and pretty boring. Great greens though. Back nine more challenging and a lot nice on the eye. Good condition but still very wet

When of the best courses I have played this year. The whole of the course was in extremely good condition. Very challenging as the wind was very strong. Can’t wait to play this again.

A peaceful round of golf

My son played here on a Saturday afternoon and we were finished in 3 half hours, oh joy. The greens and fairways were in great condition and overall an enjoyable afternoon.

Great semi links course

Enjoyed the course which was in good condition. Would definitely play again. If your ball goes in the rough you're in trouble so try and keep it nice and tidy.

Average for the money

Tee'd off in the late afternoon. Range and balls were the worst i've seen. Tee boxes, greens and fairways were in reasonable condition, possibly a bit unfair for the time of year as most courses and in prep mode.

Challenging Course especially with the winds coming off the river. Course is looking really good thanks to hard work from the grounds men and green keepers. There are several New well placed bunkers that have been installed on various holes that caught me out once or twice. Andy the pro is a friendly helpful guy. As a non member to this golf course I’ve never felt anymore welcome anywhere. Even the club house were friendly.

Sheer(ness) delight

An Interesting, well-kept course which provides a good test of golf. The only disappointment was that we could not get breakfast before our round, just a coffee from a machine. Having said that, we were made very welcome by both staff and members alike and will definitely be making a return visit.

Good test, somewhat forgiving, but, as other reviews have stated, not easy to obtain a good score on. A good number of challenging par 4's. Easy to end a round with a score that you (mistakenly) thought should have been better! This is NOT a 2 for 1 voucher course. Too many 2ball and single players allowed in sequence - we were a 4 and ended up allowing 4 different 'groups' through.

Nice course ,there was hardly a soul there when I played so almost had the course to ourselves. Much tougher than it looks as its usually windy. The back 9 plays much tougher than the front as OB to the right on holes 13,14,15 and 18 and also lots of ditches. The greens were very good considering the time of year. Well worth playing.

This is the second time I've visited Sheerness. It's not in the prettiest location and is kind of tucked away, but it's a real find. I have never seen it crowded and, being a lone golfer the majority of the time, this helps me get a cheeky round in before the school run! But it isn't quiet because of any failings. The green fee is reasonable. There are cheaper nearby, but not in as good all round condition as this. The greens and tee boxes are a credit to the ground staff.
Described as 'semi links' the majority of the course is built on flat land with ditches and ponds to find your wayward drives. Part of the course is on a hill which provides a break from hitting it up and down adjacent fairways, although the design and layout has been cleverly thought out so you're never too far away from hitting it into the wind.
The bunkers are well sanded, providing the nice change that wayward approaches caught in a trap are not the gamble they can be at some courses!
The members seem friendly, certainly the ones I have encountered and, although I haven't stayed long enough to sample the bar, the staff, both in the clubhouse and greenkeepers, are courteous and helpful.
All in all I'd certainly recommend a visit to the island and a round here at Sheerness.
