What the club says: Originally founded in 1817, Scotscraig is the 13th oldest course in the world. It is steeped in history and has continued to develop into the distinguished links that it is today. Although close to the sea, there is something of a heathland nature to Scotscraig, with far more trees in evidence than on most links courses. Scotscraig was used as a Final Open Qualifying course when the Open is played at St Andrews.

Very pleasant old course

Visited for the first time, made to feel very welcome, nice lunch before teeing off - the place is reflective of it's history, feels very traditional. Course is nicely laid out and was in great condition ; it does in places feel that quite a few of the holes are very similar but overall was a pleasant round. Definitely worth a drive to when visiting St Andrews to add some variety to your trip.

Ruthless but stunning

This course punished inaccuracy, although the back nine was forgiving. Fortunately I was able to play this course a second time, with considerable improvement.

gem of a course, check about booking online as can be cheaper then price above, shame when we played it there was work going on to a green and other areas will be in better condition very soon, can be tight in some areas and open in others, a place you have to figure out where you pick your fight if you get my drift. would I tell people to play there- YES, would I go back to play it-YES

Tough Links course in a parkland setting. Consistent greens (it was a shame that the two best looking greens were on temporaries for our visit) and course in good nick. Lots of temporary tees as course recovering from winter, so worth visiting later than March. Members and Staff very polite and welcoming. Visitors changing and showers a bit basic - a mirror and some lockers would be a good idea in the visitors changing. Well worth a visit.
