What the club says: A scenic course designed by James Braid and Ben Sayers boasts unparalleled panoramic views of the Kyles of Bute, Clyde coast, Arran and the Cowal Peninsula. At only 5419 yards long don't be deceived, Rothesay golf course will present any player a challenge whether it be the rolling par 4's or the testing par 3's where par is always a good score.

Incredible views
Played 2nd October 2024 while on holiday. Fabulous experience for many reasons. Everyone very friendly, golf course in superb condition, good range of holes with a few dramatic par 3s. Yes it was sunny, yes I played well, but it’s clear to me there is a real club atmosphere here with enormous history. Most noteworthy for me were the greens, absolutely immaculate, save the 18th which was undergoing work. I play at ncgtop100 course with 10 greenstaff(2 courses) and I have to admit Rothesay greens were superior early October- credit to the greenkeeper.I would love to play this course week in week out and in all weathers, as it’s not too long- challenging nonetheless in many ways.

Beautiful
Every hole has a spectacular view as you’re constantly going up a hill, bar the rare few holes. Honestly the best cheap course you could ever play.Reviewer Rating

What a wonderful course.
Its short but tough especially the 1st hole. Its a real awakener. Hilly isn't the word for it and the views are spectacular. The course itself drains well, well it was slightly soggy underfoot but after the real heavy rain the day before it was in good playing condition. Greens were reseptive and tees were well positioned. Fairways didn't allow for runs due to the moisture but were wide enough and the first two cuts were fair. Anything wider and you were usually in trees. A very picturesque course with interesting holes. Just a shame it is over 500 miles away.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 79 Handicap: 14.8)
