What the club says: Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club, situated just outside the historic town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, is a real gem. Not overly long, it’s still a great test for golfers, thanks in no small part to its superb undulating greens. It's an absolute pleasure to play at any time of the year, a cracking little golf course in a fabulous rolling parkland setting.
The Club was founded in 1892 and has been played at its current site, Bend Hagg, since 1904 after members decamped from the old racecourse half a mile away.

First time playing course
Really well layed out course. Lovely views mixed with tricky greens a good challenge for a complete beginner to a seasoned player.

Is a great course, although to us high handicappers it seems a very long course. As visitors we were made welcome by the pro shop.

great club course
The course is in great condition and has some lovely views being based on a hill side, many challenging sloping fairways with a blend of holes that keeps you entertained and thinking about your game.

Richmond GC, will if you like to have a good round on tight courses this is for you, but don't worry there are opportunities to really open up your shoulders. But becarefull of the wind direction (I was caught out on the very open 6th)

Nice course, very difficult playing it for the first time! Greens are difficult which adds to the rest. Hilly course with a lot of up and down, we enjoyed the walk but testing for those less mobile. Enjoy the course, in good condition, look forward to playing it again sometime! Unfortunately couldn't get a drink post round as they had decided to cash up.

Always a pleasure to play a round here
The course is holding up remarkably well in the current dry spell. If you haven't played it before expect challenging fairways a bit like a rollercoaster and when they are baked hard its easy to run unexpectedly into the rough. The only hazards that are really in play are bunkers which are well kept. Fairways are tree lined but there is ample width between the two lines of trees. Greens would benefit from a drop of rain now but are running true.
