What The Club Says
Portmarnock is widely recognised as one of the premier links courses in world golf, steeped in golfing history and a must visit for any golfer. It has hosted a wide variety of the games leading events, from the British Amateur Championship to the Canada Cup and in more recent times the Walker Cup. The Irish Open has been played at this prestigious links on 12 separate occasions. Above all, there is the charm of its delightful turf, the wildness, the solitude of the sand hills, and the ever present challenge of the wind.

The wind was so strong the day we played the planes that are usually constantly flying over head to land at Dublin airport had been rerouted inland. We played the yellow nine then the red nine.
A good score wasn't available so I focused on trying low bump and runs and punched shots. Great fun and looking forward to my next round

Wonderful course. Can score well on it when the wind isn't blowing too hard
