What the club says: Penrhos Golf Club is one of those ‘best kept secrets’ – set in the glorious privately owned, landscaped countryside park at Penrhos, our golf course was launched in 1991. It was designed by one of the UK’s leading course architects, David Williams and was commissioned by Penrhos founder and current director of the family owned Park and Golf Club, John Pugh-Evans.
We have an 18 hole championship length course which is widely considered as ‘high quality and challenging’ by most players. It is well groomed, exceptionally well maintained and playable all year-round.
We also have a 9 hole course and a floodlit driving range for those who like to fine tune, hone and practice practice practice.

Friendly Club
A nice course in good condition with a difficult start over the first 4 holes. The professional and club staff were friendly and excellant
(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 97 Handicap: 17.8)

A great friendly Club
We played a match here today and received a lovely welcome. the facilities are excellent and the course is in good condition considering this winters weather(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 92 Handicap: 17.7)

advise use a buggy, first five holes dramatically up hill, not too bad after that well looked after paid one hundred pound to play as many times as i wanted for the week no coincidence scored my best round of the week the day i used a buggy
(Round played: Jun 2016 - Score: 95 Handicap: 13.4)

(Round played: Apr 2014 - Score: 88 Handicap: 16)

Advice for playing the course I would say is don't be to quick to get driver out of the bag, club up playing into some strong winds, get a planner and learn where you can miss, if a higher handicapper take lots of balls.
Only real downside is it's not the best kept golf course I have ever played.

Advise if you think you might need a buggy you will.

The parkland course is in and above a welsh valley and is therefore hilly in places. The first 4 holes wind steeply upwards to the high plateau where the bulk of the holes can be found. The 17th is a 160 yard par 3 with the tee about 160 yards ABOVE the green and nothing much but rock, gorse and bracken in between - fantastic hole though. The 17th takes you back to the valley floor to complete the round.
A good mix of natural hazards plus lakes ponds bunkers and grass. Some open fairways and some very tight - I lost at least 6 balls on this course so make sure you are well stocked. I lost two balls off the tee on the 16th and picked up!
All in all a very nice course and club if a little pricey at £25 a round midweek. I would certainly play again and it is worth playing at least once.
