What The Club Says

Celtic Minor Golf Club (formerly known as Palleg Golf Club) is an 18 hole course surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery deep in the heart of the Swansea Valley. The picturesque views are a wonderful backdrop for your game of golf. The course is of an average difficulty and will therefore appeal to both the beginner and the seasoned professional. Our signature hole (Little Mario) is sure to pose a challenge, although only a very short par 3 the green is extremely small and water comes into play in the form of a large pond.

I was delighted to be given an opportunity to play the course having moved to the area. The welcome from the lady who looks after the clubhouse was lovely. The course could indeed be better, although there are many interesting shots which would challenge many players. It was evident that there is a lot of work being done to bring the course up to scratch. I'm seriously considering joining. A new driving range is being built, and I believe there are plans for a new club house. I am told that the course is improving month by month so hopefully it will become as good as some of the others in the area very soon. Thanks for the welcome and I shall definitely be playing again soon.

Course is under new ownership and needs a great deal of work to bring it up to standard. However only 2.5hrs to play 18 and only £10. New course name is Celtic Minor

Course was terrible I'm afraid, long grass on fairways (admittedly sign saying spraying in progress), greens were bone dry, burnt and appalling. Think they need to create temps for a year and sort out the greens.

Course was very wet due to lots of rain in the days prior. Despite this the overall condition was very good. Very warm welcome from everyone I spoke to there. Lovely few holes, especially for good drivers, very rewarding. Definitely will be coming back to play again when it's a little drier!

I have played this course several times now over the last few months and have found the shop staff and the grounds staff extremly helpful. the course is in excellent condition at the moment with the ground workers working tirelsy to keep the course in pristine condition.
the course itself is a farmland, links style course which has a ravine running across around several of the holes set out around 180 yards from the pin.
the course is not hard for a low handicapper, but for myself I play off 20,so tend to lose lots of balls..
In the summer be mindful also lots of horse flies..
enjoyable course all round, well worth a trip
