Good course but not at it's best
Third time playing Oakdale in one of their well organised open competitions. Usual friendly welcome in clubhouse and pro shop. Good food pre round. Practice net and putting green adjacent to first tee. This is a tough track, long par 4s and tight fairways, was made tougher today by condition of course. Showing some wear and tear from wet winter, generally okay but few bare patches on fairways and around the greens. Greens were quite inconsistant so were quite woolly and slow. I reckon given a few weeks of warm weather and grass growing it will back to it's usual great condition. That said a good day was had by all and hasn't put us off returning as there are some memorable holes and the welcome is always friendly.Reviewer Rating

Super course and clubhouse
Visited in June with a society. Great day was had by all. The course provides a really good challenge and is presented in impeccable condition. Food, service and facilities in the clubhouse were excellent.Reviewer Rating

bunkers not in play and one hole shortened due to bunker works
greens were sanded as well
So not in best condition for may although the layout is great and Im sure the alterations will make a great difference

First class course, many stand out feature holes. The standards were fantastic all around the course. peaceful & scenic, undulating but not hard walking.
Great layout for 9, 18 or 27 holes. Friendly members & helpful staff. A grand day out!

Top course

Vastly under-rated course
I've played most of the 'top 20' courses in Yorkshire & after visiting Oakdale for the 1st time, can't believe it rarely gets a mention. It's not in the league of the Ganton/Alwoodley/Moortown group, but neither are the summer visitor green fees. A lovely mix of holes, undulating fairways, in great condition in stunning surroundings - an unexpected treat!Reviewer Rating

Hidden gem.
What a lovely course. A real variety of holes, although all tree lined. In superb condition. The greens were fast and true. Good social distancing and hygene measures in place. Only had a bowl of chips, but they were spot on.(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 80 Handicap: 10.2)

Nice course..nice holes ..not too hilly..quite decent terrain...greens needed work Doing...long grass..patchy..bumpy..fairways in need of water...a few things to work on..for 20 quid on a Sunday aft it's an absolute no brainer..get yourself there..U won't be disappointed...

Never played previously but absolutely loved it. Great golf and great company with lovely food enjoyed prior too and after the round.

Played this course bank holiday weekend it was very quiet for a bank holiday anyway the course was a great countryside one a few water holes the 18th was a great hole do you lay up before the water or do you go for the green I hit the water ???? greens weren't to good as they had been treated not so long ago but that said good course

Second time playing this course in an open event. Always friendly welcome, good food. Course in excellent condition as usual. Greens true quite fast. Some nice holes like par 3 9th over water towards clubhouse and par 4 18th tight drive to second shot over water again towards clubhouse. Will be back for sure.
