5 Shocking Stay Away
I originally intended to play Niddry Castle Golf through Golf Now. I was offered 13.20 for £13 a round which I though was reasonable. When I turned up the staff member checked the computer and tried to charge me £25 and then £20. I explained that online is what £13 on golf now. She agreed to the payment. I was met at the 6th hole by a disgruntled committee member and and an additional person asking me to leave the course. Stating I brow beated the staff member into accepting 13 pound. I found that very suprising as the same lady and I shared a joke. On the way out of the premises before I started my round. To be treated like that is shocking and falls drastically short of anyone who plays golf\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s expectations. At one point I genuinely thought they were looking for violence. I stated that I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve played golf for 30yrs and have never been treated that way or ever asked to leave a golf course. I truly do not where to turn with this but I would stay strongly away from this cleeky sub standard operation called Niddry Castle Golf.

5 Nice course
Course was in good condition when we played. It’s a tight space that the holes are built in so there are a lot of tees and greens close to each other.
Some really nice holes especially on the front 9. £17 weekend price was very good value
Only downside was in was a slow round, over 4 hours on a pretty short course
Would play again

5 Very Friendly
Members very friendly and helpful with the slightly confusing layout especially at the start. Definitely need to play twice pr with a member to knock a few strokes off. Bit wet but had been rainig a lot.
Greens were championship standard !

5 Got cheap tea off time online. Facilities are basic but staff were very friendly and welcoming. Course length is good for mid / high handicapper but probably not much challange for longer hitters. Layout is good and most of the holes are interesting and very good looking. Nice views of the pentlands later in the course. Tees and fairways were in great shape for April. Only real negative were the greens which were very, very firm resulting in a very fast pace. They did run true but very hard to land the ball from 100y and get it to stay on the green. Nothing to do with the cut but due to the firmness. Might improve through the summer. Would recommend if paying £12 - £15 range for a round.

5 Cracking wee course. Couldn't resist taking a few photos as it looked gorgeous in the sun. Nice hole layout, no boring holes due to elevation changes and a few blind shots. Would like to play again.

5 Convoluted layout shoehorned in beside the bings and around Niddry Castle. The loop of holes from 9 to 16 is less quirky and more open with views to the Pentlands. A number of cross-over holes and almost shared fairways could be hazardous on a busy day. Greens were firm and hard to hit but putted true.

5 A proper little hidden gem! Having been a junior member back in the days when it was a 9 hole course was great to play the new 9 holes. There is a noticeable difference in the turf in the original and new 9 but thats to be expected. The condition of the original 9 holes is superb, amongst the best I have played. Definitely a thinking mans golf course and by no means a slog! At £15 a round its a bargain! If I lived closer, id snap up the membership deal at less than £500 a year! Only drawback...... clubhouse is limited and no pro shop, however staff are excellent

5 Enjoyable days golf yesterday (23/10/12) some winter greens but unavoidable given recent weather. Nice course quite short but some thought required for club selection etc with some blind tee shots where booming the driver isn't the best choice. Some nice holes over the first and last thirds of the course. Middle section though enjoyable doesn't have the quirky ness of the opening, closing sections. Played on a group on deal so excellent value especially as we were also given half price tickets for a return visit by the friendly staff.will definitely be back to play in the summer when course should be at its best.

5 Unfortunately the winter greens were on when we played so can't really comment as the condition of the course was no great shakes due to the time of year. The layout is quite tight in places (remember this course is infamous) so accuracy is a premium and you need to be mindful of other players hitting shots from other tee boxes etc. The layout is pretty good - some interesting holes, overall not a bad course at all.

5 Played course today with nice couple who were out for a stroll round, very enjoyable, weather conditions fantastic and course was immaculate. A real gem within West Lothian as the views and playing conditions are a credit to the golf course. Will certainly return again and would recommend visit to any other golfers out there. Very warm welcome from nice lady who provided my ticket.
