What The Club Says

We have a fantastic golf course which is playable all year round. Having undergone significant investment in our facilities and golf course since 2025, we'd love you to come and see for yourself. As well as the different woodland and heathland aspects of our course, we have an all grass Trackman Driving Range and an two indoor SIMS anyone can hire to play on. We also have a new buggy fleet, making us the perfect spot for a quick round before or after work.

Have a browse through the library of course images on our website and you'll see it really is a great place to spend your leisure time. Whilst being easy walking, the course is also a fair challenge for golfers of all abilities, with accuracy being the key in a pretty setting to play the game we all love.

Bunkers

The course was in lovely condition, the only disappointment was the condition of the bunkers, it was like playing out of ballast.

Needs TLC

I played Newark GC a few times during 2024. It has been in a transition period from the previous owners etc and clearly in need of some TLC. On a positive note, there is lots of potential to get the course back to where it once was. Its a very flat course but very fair. Most of the holes are treelined but you will only find them if hitting a really bad shot. The greens are improving but there is still lots of GUR around the course. Some of the bunkers were out of action completely. On the whole, the course needs some love and hopefully the new owners can resolve this.

Tired and in need of some investment

I played Newark golf club for the first time yesterday it is a course that has lots of potential but it\'s clearly in need of some investment. \\On a positive note all of the staff that I came into contact with we\'re very friendly and we\'re working hard to provide a good service. We had lovely filling breakfast let\'s set us up for the day.\\Setting of the course it\'s very nice with all the facilities that you could require, although some of the practice facilities are looking a little tired.\\The course is quite heavily tree lined and it requires you to be accurate of the tee in order to score well, not my strong point! The greens in general looked awful and some of the holes were raised up meaning that puts that should have dropped even licked out or stopped just short. There was a lot of cut grass on the course where it appears that the grass had been allowed to grow too long before it was it cut and maintained suggesting that regular maintenance isn\'t as frequent as it should be. The bunkers were unplayable mini had weeds growing in them non-appeared to have sand or at least insufficient sound to call them a bunker many were marked as GUR and we played all of them as GUR. The course is very flat and contains a number of dog legs which require you to think about your club selection off the t but none of the holes really stood out as being particularly memorable.\\Apparently the course is in the process of being purchased by new owners and and it appears that during this transition period the current owners are not willing or possibly able to invest in the maintenance of the course. Let\'s hope that the sale goes through and that the new owners are willing to make this the really nice course it can be.
