Nice short course with some interesting holes . Greens on back nine were not great as some kind of disease on them causing black patches. Clubhouse and staff are superb

Great course

New mills was found in good condition considering all the rain we have had, a bit spongy in places and can be seen to be drying out well, it is a challenging course on top of a hill in the peak district with wonderful views the clubhouse was friendly and lovely food at lunch and meal afterwards.
Great shop and recommend a buggy to play.

Nice course worth playing

First time playing New Mills GC. Friendly welcome in pro shop with some golf course advice. Decent practice/warm up area near tenth tee. Course in great condition, greens very good. Not the longest course but a little up and down with some tricky holes. The par 3 16th is simply stunning from elevated tee. Would play here again for sure.

One of my favourites

This is a very good course and great value for your money. Some tricky holes a couple of very difficult holes all presented with great views of the surrounding Peak District. The greens are all in good order and playing well, if a little slow (it had been very wet). There is always a warm welcome in the club house for all. Well worth a visit.

Lovely setting with great panoramic views and well worth the visit. Greens had had some recent work done so quite slow but not a problem as we all know course work is essential.

Love this course

The course is two separate 9 holes with the newest being wide open fairways with some spectacular views from the tees. Some good challenging jokes. Second nine is more established with narrower fairways. Love the quarry hole which is very unforgiving if you can't get the height off your drive. Some great holes.

Great little track

First time here, really enjoyable course. Greens were superb for late January as were the fairways and the rest of the course. Hardly saw another golfer, 9 holes were pretty much unsighted due to fog but thats no fault of the course so we did miss the amazing views. Looking forward to seeing the course/views in all there glory next time we come up to play, hopefully in the sunshine.

Great Views!

Wonderful views around every corner of this course perched high on the hills over looking New Mills and the peak district. we played on a day with serious strong winds making this course a real challenge. the front 9 is a lot more exposed and we too a real battering, however the course was in fantastic condition especially with the huge amount of rain we had had in the week. The greens were fast and true and in great condition. The course is really interesting and a number of blind shots make it challenging for any player. positioning is key as a number of holes are quite short, however if you are out of position they will take shots off you very quickly! All in all well worth a visit just try and pick a clam day!

Great course

Played this course quite a few times. With it playing from poor conditions (Once), to extremely good. On the whole, it's always been a great place to play golf and not being a member, I've always been treated superbly by the club and its members alike. The course itself is challenging, yet not overly so. And the views from certain point along the course of Derbyshire and the peak district are amazing.

Needs work on greens

Lovely course wonderful views nice people unfortunately the greens were shocking, probably the worse greens I have ever played on. very little to no grass on all the green. They need a lot of work to recover. Wouldn't consider playing again till greens improved which is a shame as its a course worth playing repeatedly

My favourite course

I love this course, the back nine is brilliant with some fantastic holes, the par 3 16th in particular, you have to play it to understand why! Only gripe is the boggy fairways on the 10th,11th and 14th but they are busy installing new drainage so this should be much better once completed.

Friendliest club ever

The course, although quite short with 6 par 3's, is anything but easy, some beautiful challenging holes, two that stick out for me are the par 4 9th, which i think would make a fantastic finishing hole, and the 16th, a spectacular 230 yd downhill par 3. There are a variety of holes and every hole is different. Two holes on the back nine, 9/10, do suffer with soggy sides around the trees at the edge of the fairways after heavy rain, fairways and greens in general are always in very good condition I've played this course a number of times over the past few yrs and it never gets tiresome, it's always a pleasure to play. The clubhouse is so friendly and has a good variety of food and beer, John behind the bar can't do enough for you and is a real gent. A class act all round.

This is a MUST play course

My favourite course, six par threes, the fourth is only 87 yards off the yellows but it plays differently every time, the 16th, down hill to a sloping green, very difficult to keep it on the green, we have used 5,6,7 irons, rescue woods, 3 and 5 woods, even driver when the wind was up! what about the 12th, the quarry hole, brilliant. The staff are amazing, they make every one so welcome, John the club house steward is a top guy. Great value for money deals available, we took the 12 rounds in a year (full,12 months) for only ?150, we play there every 2 to 3 weeks, you can't miss us, we're the idiots in shorts....even in winter when its freezing. You must playbthis course as soon as you can. You wont regret it.

Absolute howling gale, even the High Peak Locals said it was bad. The course was in great nick, its cheap, friendly and very tough! A couple of querky holes with tee shots having to rise over a cliff face on the 11th ( i kid you not) and the 16th being a 230 yard par 3 where the green is only just viewable in the distance down a steep hill and over a mass of gorse bushes. But all in all an excellent day out!!!
