What The Club Says
Manor Course (Sprowston Manor)
After 16 months of intensive work and £1.6m of investment, the championship 'Manor Course' at Sprowston Manor opened in July 2003. The course has been totally re-designed by renowned architect Ross McMurray of European Golf Design, who was also responsible for the Marquess Course at Woburn and the improvements at The Celtic Manor. The new course is now one of the finest inland courses in the region and has already hosted a EuroPro Tour event. It measures in at 6,464 yards and features 75 bunkers, water hazards and greens built to USGA specifications. The signature hole is the 7th, a dogleg par four with a water feature running parallel to the fairway complete with a fountain and weirs.

Not that impressed
This is a very good layout. Plenty of interesting holes and challenges. BUT, it's lacking some TLC. Firstly, it's a resort, so probably gets too much traffic. Second, the greens are awful. Loads of bare patches which make putting a lottery. There isn't really a decent growth on the fairways either, they are very patchy.
The Clubhouse is soulless and service is average. (No orange juice? At a resort?)
Finally, they desperately need a Marshall. The group in front of ours took over 5 hours and at no point did they look likely to let anyone through. I would not recommend a visit here

Tip Top Condition
Greens and fairways perfectly maintained and lots of clean soft sand in the well looked after bunkers. Loads of trees on nearly all holes to catch stray drives but thankfully not too much water in play. some very picturesque holes with changes in elevation but not a struggle at all to walk around. Excellent food and service at the hotel and clubhouse. Will definitely be back.Reviewer Rating
