Probably the best 9 hole course in Wales

I played on Saturday in mixed weather and the course was in great condition and with a reasonable pace of play considering how busy the course was. Afterwards we enjoyed a drink in the excellent bar with great service.

Very Good course

Compact 9 hole course and in very good condition apart from Sheep and their droppings everywhere !! Greens were great and fenced off - great roll and rapid. Very Interesting course with dips and undulations and superb views.
Well worth a visit and a honesty box in operation if you haven't pre booked.

A great 9 hole course

A tight 9 hole course with great views and a testing course but a joy to play. There is one par 5 and four par 3s which will test all golfers. If you are off the fairways it is fairly easy to find your ball.

"An Unwelcome In The Hillside"

We (2 people) played 18 holes on Friday 15 October 2021 for the first and last time. Upon arrival we parked next to a van whose alarm continually sounded to be confronted by a member of the club who asked us if we had \\\\\\\"touched\\\\\\\" his vehicle!. Our answer was no. No apology was forthcoming. Upon completing the first 9 holes we were again confronted aggressively by another member who asked us if we had provided our details in the visitors book, which we had and paid our green fees by putting £40 in to the provided envelope. We were then accused of not providing our details and not paying by a further group of members. My playing partner wanted to leave the course there and then but we decided to play on. It is quite obvious that visitors are not made welcome at this club. If the club does not want visitors they should state this on their website. This is the most unwelcoming golf club that I have ever encountered. In future we shall play other courses in the area that have been very welcoming and courteous to us in the past

A lovely little 9 hole course in the ancient capital of wales. This is a challenging course in good condition and well worth a visit. It has one par 5 hole, 5 par 4s and 3 testing par 3s. The staff and members are friendly and welcoming. It is well worth a visit if in the area.

Another Welsh nine hole course and watch out for the sheep!!plenty of heather and rocky outcrops to contend with.Signature hole is a par three where you need crampons to reach the tee then try to judge which club you need to reach the green.

The description listed is not Machynlleth Golf Club in Mid Wales but Machrihanish on the West coast of Scotland. Machynlleth is a nine hole inland course whereas Machrihanish is an 18 hole links course.

Machynlleth is a lovely nine hole course but it is not Machrihanish which is spectacular.

A great heathland course of 9 holes played twice. set in stunning surroundings and with a tremendous view from the 8th/17th tee which has quite a climb to it. The 9th also involves a tee shot over a public road which is always thrilling.
Quite taxing and as i was travelling light and only had 6 clubs, 3W being the longest, the course palyed long. It's fairly rough terrain so while trolleys are on offer, carrying clubs is the better option.
Mad a few shouts of 'Fore' but only to clear the grazing sheep out of the way!
Generally £20 for 18 holes though only £12 after 4pm - great value.
