What The Club Says
Lobden is a 9 hole moorland course with superb views of the surrounding countryside and although it may not be long by today's standards, at 5697 yds, it is without doubt a challenge for all golfers.

The greens are very good, and you can see the groundsman takes pride in them. The course isn't long, but that isn't it strength, as it plays much longer with the stronger winds it gets. Staying on the fairway and course management is a must, or you'll end up in the rough which is tough (but fair) to get out of, and that easy bird turns into a boggy.
I found the members very welcoming and the clubhouse very good, with ample room to sit and chat, and a good snooker table. The bar is very well priced (cheaper than my local) and the food very good, though perhaps the menu slightly limited, but on an open day it could have been trimmed to suit the occasion.
Overall a very good club, one I will certainly play again and if I lived nearer, one I would look at joining (It would save me a fortune !)
