What the club says: A challenging course near the coast, Lee-on-Solent is a wonderful combination of parkland and heathland. The course has a really tough finish with a final five holes that will destroy your card if you start to think about the clubhouse too early.

What a golf course
I wanted to express my appreciation for the wonderful round of golf we enjoyed recently. The weather was absolutely brilliant and sunny, which made the experience even more delightful.Over the past few weeks, we have been exploring various courses in the Southampton and Portsmouth areas, ranging from the most expensive to more affordable options. This was our second visit to Lee on Solent, and it remains our favourite by far. The course offers a great balance of challenge and variety, with holes of differing lengths, narrow and open fairways, each possessing its own unique character. Additionally, the fees are very reasonable, which we greatly appreciate.
A commendation is due to the team that has consistently maintained the course in excellent condition over the years. The greens were impeccably kept, especially considering the recent weather conditions.
I would also like to highlight the exceptional service provided by the lady in the pro shop yesterday. Her friendliness contributed to a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere from the very beginning.
We will definitely be returning in the near future and look forward to our next visit.

First time visit, high handicap 4 ball
I recieved a warm welcome from the pro shop staff , who was helpful, friendly and happy to chat despite being busy. Weather was windy but thankfully the rain had passed. Members all said hi also.Course was in great condition and the greens were incredible. A really nice afternoon/ evening and great value for visitors in my opinion ( £120 for a football ) will definitely go back

A well maintained course. Greens good,and would suit those who struggle over a hilly course. This was flat,with generous fairways

great course for the senior gentlemen
great course that is not too long and quite flat so ideal for the senior golfer. It is quite tight in places and the greens were exceptional.(Round played: Sep 2018 - Score: 87 Handicap: 9.6)

Great Course

Unhelpful in pro shop, when asked if there were any temporary green told there may be a couple!!!!!!

A tough day at Lee. Weather has made the course very dry, with unpredictable outcomes off the tee. Bouncing into the thick rough can ruin a hole. Greens had plenty of grass on them, making putts slow and dying at the cup. Off the fairway is untidy, with an abundance of fallen debris around the tree line. The gorse is penal and needs cutting back. The walk off from the tee points is surfaced with large size aggregate, making the feet sore towards the end of a round. The bar and catering were very good, and with a good staff presence. Changing room, showers, toilets, were in a clean condition. Plenty of parking. Impression? As my old school report used to say "could do better".

Been a member for the over 2 years and played some really nice and exclusive courses during that time. Lee on Solents greens are still among the best I have played on. The only criticism is that the bunkers are looking a bit tired. Visitors with members only play £20, and that includes the weekend, it an absolution bargain.

Despite the weather and some really wet fairways in places, the greens are still in excellent condition - new greenkeeper has done an excellent job. Course is very tight in places, with the last 6 holes being some of the hardest in hampshire.

Course was in very good condition although there were one or two greens that were in poor condition it looked like a chemical had been dropped or put on them which had burnt the grass, overall good value for money

A good test of golf.
Quite hilly in places.
Usually in excellent condition, however, some areas can be a bit soft underfoot.
Nice clubhouse.
I would highly recommend a visit.

A fairly gentle but attractive layout. In good condition for late October - winter rules not yet necessary. Bunkers excellent. All staff very obliging.
