Enjoyable

Enjoyable golf course. Not the most challenging but it has it all, sand, water, trees... The course has a good layout, where a bit of course management will come go along way. I was really surprised how good the green were. Especially on the front 9. Overall, the greens ware large and good condition

Nice course

Course in general is in very good condition and whilst the greens look a little patchy in places they still run very true.

Such a shame, used to be great!

Such a disappointment when revisiting an old favourite. Recently changed hands and the new owners are clearly struggling to make it work. General course maintenance pretty poor, greens woeful, bunkers horrible, even the tee boxes were pretty thread bare in places. Lots of rabbits evident with significant damage to a couple of greens. Unless the greenkeeping staff get a hold of this place soon it is going to be very expensive to put right.

A nice little course

A nice little course hidden away in the countryside, some challenging and interesting holes. Some greens could do with a small amount of TLC and the bunkers could do with more/softer sand. Unless you know the course the signage for some next tee boxes could send you in the wrong direction and miss out 4 or 5 holes

Society Weekend

Nice venue for a four day society weekend. Great facilities, driving range, putting green and well stocked pro shop. Bar and catering very good. Lodges clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.

OVERNIGHT GOLF BREAK

Overall 6 guys had a nice 2 day golf break, the food, drinks and service from everyone - very good, the main course is nice, not too testing, just some greens on the back nine need some TLC.

Poor course maintenance

As others have found, the condition of the greens and bunkers lets down the course severely. The accommodation, food and staff were all excellent but as we attended a golf society weekend and played the course three times, the course was the important factor. Would not return.

Course in very poor condition, and can't all be blamed on the dry conditions. Greens were very patchy and around the greens were just mud and dirt plies.

Really interesting course with doglegs on many of the par 4's. Course could do with a bit of TLC in places and there was some fairly severe cracking on some of the fairways presumably caused by the recent dry spell. Greens were generally decent even when they didn't look like they would be and rolled well. Pretty flat so an easy walk for those that carry. Didn't play well but enjoyed the layout and would like to play it again in future.
