What The Club Says
Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the hill above Kames, the golf course offers truly panoramic views across the water to the Island of Bute.
During the round there are other stunning aspects across Loch Fyne to the Mull of Kintyre, and south to the Ayrshire coast past Arran. The golf course has nine very intriguing holes, all quite different in design, requiring careful choice of both club and shot.
Although there are no bunkers or traps, there are burns, patches of heather and gorse, and blind shots on two holes to keep everyone on their toes! There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the wildlife as the deer and numerous birds of prey can often be seen, and heard.

A Real Gem
We stumbled on this course while staying in the area and absolutely fell in love. Really unique golf holes spread over the hills above “the Kyles” - after a splendid “mini-Alps” opening par 3 the course moves out to the hillsides with holes going uphill, sidehill, downhill - everything but flat. All the holes were enjoyable with #7, a drivable par 4 with its fairway sloping down and to the left and ending with a square green benched into the hillside, being our personal favorite. This is a place that reminds one of all the great golf to be found in every nook and cranny of Scotland. We’re going back this summer and staying nearby so we can get in multiple rounds.

lovely hilly cheeky 9 holer
Was not expecting an opportunity to play golf, having visited the area with mum, wife, dog and son. But this was great, freely available clubs, and an honesty box for green fees. We could even take the dog on the course. Not long, but challenging moorland course, with blind carries and super views. Standout holes were the 7th, and the 9th holes. We were the only ones on the course, would recommend and come again in the unlikely event we are in the area again...Reviewer Rating
