What The Club Says
Established in 1887 it is now a 27 hole set-up with nine relatively new holes as part of the championship course, giving it a different dimension. The course is tough, but is typically what Scottish Links golf is about - large sloping greens, deep bunkers and doglegs. Hosted the British Amateur Championships in June 2001.

A lovely traditional links
Kilmarnock Barassie Golf Club offers a lovely, traditional links layout that's enjoyable to play, though notably flat – more dunes would have added extra character and challenge. The course is well-maintained and presents a fair test, with the standout feature being its excellent par 3s, all of which are both scenic and strategic. It rained for the first four holes, but otherwise conditions were calm during my round, making it a more forgiving experience than it might be on a windy day.
The greens were superb & I imagine in the middle of summer they will be like lightning.
The atmosphere was welcoming, with friendly members and helpful staff. Overall, a pleasant visit to a quality course with a relaxed atmosphere & some nice views across to the Isle of Arran.

Golf with Drew
Guest at this place with friend Drew Wallace, who plays off a 1.5 and watching him play it as my teammate was special, but me having the par on 18 to win it was clutch!Reviewer Rating

Wonderful links course
Played this following weeks of wet weather in this part of the world and the course was in great nick. Greens were really true and it was a real pleasure to play when many other courses are damp bogs currently due to the weather. Also a friendly, unassuming reception in the club house.(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 86 Handicap: 13.6)
