Not sure what to make of the course, in reasonable condition all things considered, the tees were tired, and showed a lot of wear. The ditches running around the course were frankly a pain as a first time player and not knowing there position.

Very Good Value For Money

At ?25 on a Saturday morning, this is a good value for money course. Due to the recent heatwaves, the fairways resembled a welcome mat, but the summer run was helpful. Quite a few fun holes, such as the first, a par 3 which proved harder than it looked off the tee.
As with everything, you get what you pay for, so although the general course was in good condition, the greens left a bit to be desired. Without wishing to be churlish, a little more greenkeeping work would have made putting less of a premium. It meant many of the short shots not quite going as far as they otherwise might have.
A nice clubhouse, with comfortable outside seating area providing tasty 'Bombay Chow' and plenty of choice on the bar was a welcome end to the round.

The course layout is pretty good, but aside from trimming the greens there appears to have been no money spent on improving the course over recent years. The greens were generally in a bad condition. Fairways were largely ok tbf, but just off the fairways were unkempt. Its a shame as the course has real potential and it has a nice clubhouse. ?25 for a Sunday morning isn't too bad but id rather spend an extra ?10-15 and play a course that is being looked after.

Above standard public course

A pretty decent public course with some varied holes & elevated tees. Invariably plenty of songs of not yet recovering from winter with some patchy divot ridden fairways & patchy, bare & bobbly greens but overall still a worthwhile experience. Suits those who can drive straight or draw the ball with the F9 having plenty of left to right camber into adjacent stream or bushes. Tough. And to add a great Indian food restaurant in the 19th. I will be back.

Marsh land

Sorry to say because I really like Haste Hill, but it's just too wet and the grounds people cannot cut the grass in the fairways, so everywhere is really long and no fun to play. Hopefully with dryer weather it will be back to the great course it can be, but I will not play there for another month.
