What The Club Says
One of the most unique Scottish links courses as designed by James Braid and almost totally encircled by the sea. There are sea and mountain views from every tee, fairway and green, other visual delights are the resident school of bottle-nose dolphins who often play within a five irons length of the first eight fairways! Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Links has hosted a total of 10 National Championships 2010.
Short-listed for Scotland's Best Golf Course/Experience at the 2025 Scottish Golf Tourism Awards (£100-£250 category) alongside Cruden Bay, the Machrie and Nairn.
Voted as Scotland's Best Golfing Experience (value for money) at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards 2017, 2018 & 2024 in our category. Ranked as No. 33 in the National Club Golfer Top 100 Best/Fun Golf Courses to play with over 2,000 courses in Great Britain and Ireland. Also ranked in the Top 50 of Scotland's Top 100 Golf Courses (Golf World Magazine).

A bit up and down and samey
First time playing this course and having read such great reports we were really looking forward to it. However, a lot of the holes are very similar, straight down with gorse bushes either side of the fairway and towards the end became a bit monotonous. It was in great condition and the green were good but we came away disappointed. We also played Brora, Goldspie, Royal Dornoch and Tain and they were all much better than Fortrose and Rosemarkie.Reviewer Rating
