What the club says: Designed by internationally acclaimed golf course architect Francisco Escario, thanks to his imagination and ingenuity it is one of the most challenging par 30 golf courses around. Environmentally, the maturing course is a delight with its natural beauty sympathetically enhanced with the addition of no less than five lakes. At 1,822-yard par 30 golf course offers an interesting, challenging and, above all, fun-filled test for all standards of player.

Short but tricky course

Enjoyable round at Effingham Park - went on a Tuesday afternoon, twice round the nine holes and didn't see a single other golfer.
It's a short course but by no means easy as the layout is tight and the greens small. Pleasant surroundings in the grounds of a hotel, pretty lake with lots of geese (had to shoo them off the green at one point). Fairways and tee boxes were well looked after, but the greens were a bit bare and bobbly and the bunker sand was rock hard. Water in play on several holes. Overall it's a real test of the short game.

Very good course if you want to practise through the bag, work on short game accuracy and want to zip round quickly. Good condition all round and greens ran very true if a little slow.

This is a good practice course. There are only 3 short par 4's, the rest par 3's. It's quite narrow. The greens are quite slow, but roll true. If you don't have much time and need a quick practice, then it's a good choice. Last time I played here was 3 decades ago, so it was quite nostalgic seeing how small staked trees had grown. There was also a lot more water hazards and ditches than I remember. Great value on a 2 for 1 voucher, but overpriced if paying full green fees.

A very good course with some challenges. Several holes involve water (espcially if you play like I do!). The course is usually kept in superb condition and it is well worth a visit. There is probably something for most golfers.

I find the course irritating, to tightly packed and not enough variety.. There is no Long driving holes, it's a last choice if other courses are booked out i'm afraid. Was good to play when i was young, not now though.
