What the club says: Previously described as ‘a Diamond of the Dales’, Bentham offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. The views on the golf course of Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside are a sight to behold on a clear day, with a breathtaking background of the Lake District Fells.
The course has been under the ownership of the Marshall Family since 2009 and has a bright future ahead of it following many improvements over the last few years. The developments include fully refurbishing the Pro Shop, clubhouse and changing facilities as well as a new course layout.
Visitors are welcomed with open arms every day of the week whether as a society trip, corporate group or just a couple of you wanting to wind down. Many visitors have commented on the outstanding quality of the greens and even more of them discovered that it is the friendliest of clubs, offering a warm welcome to new members and visitors alike. Is it as good as we say?
The only way to find out is to come and see for yourself and then tell us afterwards whilst you are sampling our food and drink in the restaurant.

Great Fun
Loved it here. Fun layout with a nice test of golf if the wind picks up. Recommend a buggy if you aren't as mobile as the course has quite a bit of elevation changes- but adds to the experience. Some stunning views of the dales too.Reviewer Rating

Lovely course
Lovely course with great views and some challenging holes. It can get a little wet after rain but don't let that put you off. The greens where in excellent condition for the time of year. I always enjoy playing at Bentham.Reviewer Rating

Scenic Course
The course is set in some great scenery. The fairways are well cut as are the greens and finding your way around is easy as the course is well signposted. However, for this golfer, 62 years old and with a dodgy knee and hip it was a little bit too hilly. I would hire a buggy if I played this course again. Really enjoyable day

Nice Course worth a visit
Despite the poor weather, rain, downpour and drizzle we all enjoyed the course. Very scenic and had some nice challenges obviously made tougher by the rain.However all wanted to go back to play when the weather is good. Clubhouse nice and staff friendly, nice local beer as well! As we ended up the only ones on the course the staff waited for us to see if we wanted food and drinks!

Great course in a fantastic setting
A very well laid out course in a beautiful part of the country. Taking in views of the Yorkshire 3 peaks. The course in fairly tight and tricky but not unobtainable, stick to the fairways and you'll have a good round.Very friendly welcome and good facilities.

Really is a hidden Gem
Fabulous course with the Yorkshire 3 peaks providing a stunning back drop. Keep the ball straight and lay up on the longer Par 4?s and you can make a good score. New driving range so you can warm up beforehand - just make sure you avoid it when you Tee off from the elevated first Tee as a slice will go OB !!Reviewer Rating

Fairways were water logged
The course as waterlogged on fairways, in most places so really the course was unplayable. However the greens were ok, Have seen it in better conditions, so this report is only based on conditions today(Round played: Sep 2017 - Score: 102 Handicap: 27.7)

nice friendly club
great place to play a round of golf and view the scenary. there was a bit of wet cut grass lying around on the day which sometimes was difficult to find your ball if just off the fairways. overall the course and greens was in good condition even on a wet day.(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 101 Handicap: 22.8)

fabulous gem
Not played here for many years, but found the new layout to be a massive improvement but what really surprised me was the improvement in the quality of the course, from the greens to the fairways to the buildings, ponds, signage & everything in between is now right out of the very top draw, make no mistake this course is now one of the best in this area, right up there with Lancaster & Heysham in my opinion.Reviewer Rating

Family run golf course, wonderfully welcoming and accommodating for our needs. The views really are spectacular and worth the green fee alone. Course involves lots of elevation changes as you would expect. A must play course if you are in the area
