What The Club Says
Abernethy is a traditional Highland golf course, built on natural moorland, and surrounded by majestic pine trees. The course is suitable for golfers of all standards. Casual visitors will cope perfectly well with the friendly course layout while low handicappers will need to bring their very best short game to score well.
The Forest Kitchen and Cafe offer light meals etc. in our Clubhouse and are open from 8.00am until 5.00pm daily.
Please check in advance for club hires so that we can ensure clubs are available for you. Online booking available.

The course is short, and if you drive well you could score very well, but a course whose SSS matches the par (66), tells you the real story. With any mishaps from the tee you could find yourself in foot high heather or in the trees, and suddenly your score will rocket. Not much point in taking a drop into another pile of heather! If you do drive well, then the small, but slopy greens will test your short game.
Overall, if you play the shortness will reward you, but if you stray or are poor around the greens this course will punish you. Do not be fooled by the courses soft look!
Friendly clubhouse and tee times not needed. Pitch up and play one of the true hidden gems (and it is over 100 years old so it truly is and feels like a historic piece of greenery)
