What the club says: Aberdare Golf Club was founded in 1921 as a Parkland course at Abernant, which is about a mile from the centre of Aberdare. This picturesque 18-hole golf course is famous for its mature Oak trees and was also a home club for one of Britains most famous golfers Mr Dai Rees, who was former Ryder Cup Captain.

Fantastic course
What a fantastic course. This was the first time we?d played Aberdarehaving heard some negative comments from other golfers we?d spoken too. I have to say how wrong they were. This is a fantastic course in an amazing condition and we?ll definitely be back to play again.Being our first time on the course, we weren't sure of where to go but everyone there was friendly and eager to help.
I can't praise this course highly enough and am sorry that I was persuaded by others not to visit before.
I will definitely be back soon.
Give it a try, you'll love it.

Well placed trees make for tough course
Def need to be accurate off the tees with tree lined fairways and well placed trees to make some holes even tougher. Some greens drop off massively while others are at the top of big slopes making accuracy towards the greens, and club selection, important as well.

Clubhouse and new pro shop are good.Ample portions of good golfing fayre were available and the bar staff were very friendly.
The young pro was very attentive and eager to provide for all our society needs.
The visit was only marred by the hostile attitude of a few senior members.
