What the club says: The course was only designed in 1990 by Bob Hamilton, who has also designed courses in Scotland and Singapore. The course is truly natural and has excellent drainage, which has needed winter greens. Even though the course was established quite late, it has history with evidence of Bronze Age settlements and old mining works which are on display, creating challenging natural hazards around the course.

Course rather tatty 7 temp greens , very lumpy other greens but it has been a bad winter. Bunkers iron hard and unraked. Reduced winter rate made it acceptable. Still a magnificent place to play.

GUR

A great visit as always to Cape Cornwall GC, unfortunately due to work, they currently have 8 temporary greens and the ones that were in use weren't at the standard they usually are. Hopefully they will be able to get the work done quickly so the greens are back to their best. The rest of the course was in a very good overall condition.
The staff in the clubhouse were very friendly and helpful, didn't get chance for a drink after the round, as a couch load of OAP's turned up for food and drinks.
I will be back again in the summer to see how the greens heal up and hopefully have another fun round at Cape

Empty course

Such a shame they charge £23 minimum for a round. We nearly didnt go due to the price, but called it a birthday treat. The course was virtually empty on a sunny Thursday in late September and so was the bar after. Spectacular holes especially the clifftop 12th-16th. Deserves a wider clientele which they would get if they offered mid afternoon £15 rounds

Wild and adventurous course

Excellent and fun course, although the golfshake stats need updating since the course has undergone a few changes and is now a par 70, not 69 as the app says

Unforgettably scenic challenge!

Worth playing the course for the scenery alone!
A real test in the wind - which is always blowing, especially on the back 9.
The clubhouse is friendly and welcoming - also good food, beer and accommodation.
The layout on the front 9 is quite tight, especially the 3 parallel long holes (6,7,8) - watch for groups coming towards you when busy - but loved holes 12 onwards - fantastic views!!
Don't expect fast, flat greens in this exposed landscape - just enjoy the challenge!

Golf with a View.... and Difference!

England’s first & last, or Westernmost, golf club will not be to everyone’s taste but I really enjoyed playing at this beautiful location. Stunning coastal views are a constant distraction and will provide long lasting memories, even if your score isn’t near handicap.
The layout was explained to me beforehand as there are some long walks between holes and I was warned that you’re ‘in the lap of the Gods’ from the 12th.
Several blind shots and severely sloping fairways made me think ‘what do I do here?’ A good score is possible though, by playing conservatively. Greens are small, my ball didn’t always roll straight but this ‘crazy’ golf can be fun in a place like this.
Currently limited golf facilities, but I had a very comfortable overnight stay here, so was able to explore the area and watch the sunset over Cape Cornwall.
Highly recommended for anyone open to golf with a difference!

Great course - very scenic by the sea. Facilities are nice. Club house and golf accessories are very basic and need improving.

Always enjoyable. A challenging course improved considerably of late by sensitive course management by green keepers. A stunningly beautiful course, well kept but undersized greens of average quality. A friendly club where the members always make you welcome. Great staff. Nice clubhouse and food.
