Due to Palm Springs’ rich climate, golfing in this area of California is like playing golf in peak summer – no matter the season.  The desert themed golf courses further enhances its appeal to visiting golfers and here are four fantastic facilities for you to trial during your next golf trip.

La Quinta Resort

La Quinta is a luxurious resort that is also located conveniently close to PGA West, with five other golf courses part of the complex. Pete Dye has been employed as designer for three of the loops – Dunes, Mountain and Stadium Courses – and both Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman also have their own gems to showcase to travelling golfers. Prices here begin from $369 per person, for two nights and two rounds.

Classic Club

The Classic Club is one of the premium experiences in Palm Springs, and it has hosted the Bob Hope Classic on two occasions in 2006 and 2007. Featuring more than 5,000 pepper, pine and olive trees, this marvelous Arnold Palmer design provides the perfect environment for a majestic round of golf. The loop also features in excess of 30 acres of water, which should garner the interest of golfers looking to score well. Measuring 7,200 yards from the tips and boasting otherworldly vistas of Coachella Valley, this is golf done right. Prices here begin from $429 for two nights and two rounds of golf.

Indian Canyons

Indian Canyons rests peacefully at the foothills of the San Jacinto mountains but the aggressive gusts spawned from the Coachella Valley are heavily protected by the peaks of the mountains. Visitors will have the option of two routes – North and South Course – and the former is the longer of the pair. Measuring just short of 7,000 yards, it’s certainly not the longest but the course augments its defense through numerous water hazards. The South is the easier of the two and it has become popular among female golfers, as the collection of par-5s deserve special mention. Whatever route you decide upon, you will be greeted with surreal scenery. Prices here begin from £329 for two nights and two nights rounds of golf.

JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa

Set on 450 acres in the heart of Coachella Valley and surrounded by three mountain ranges, JW Marriott Desert Springs offers a luxury golf getaway with style. The resorts 884 rooms and suites boast modern design and stunning views.  On-site, enjoy two championship golf courses — the scenic Palm Course and the challenging Valley Course — plus an 18-hole putting green and driving range. Off the fairways, explore 22 shops, including Harley-Davidson rentals, relax by the Oasis pool, or dine at one of nine restaurants and lounges.

This resort is everything you need for an unforgettable Palm Springs golf escape.

Desert Springs

There’s four excellent recommendations if you are looking to book a golf trip in the Palm Springs area this spring.

With plenty of world-renowned facilities and excellent external activities to keep your party occupied, there’s little wonder as to why Palm Springs is such a popular golfing hub.
