Michael Brennan booked his place in the FedEx Cup Playoffs by winning the Wyndham Championship, thus securing his spot in the top 70 who move on to this week’s FedEx St Jude Championship.
But plenty of big names will be at home twiddling their thumbs. Perhaps the most notable of those is five-time major champion Brooks Koepka, who needed to finish no worse than fourth and ended the week in 70th place.
He was pretty scathing about his own performance, saying: "I struck the ball great," Koepka explained. "It's just all on the greens. I don't know what the deal is.
"Got zero confidence, can't putt. I don't know. There's going to be a lot of changes here soon. Pretty disappointed. I think it's pretty pathetic that I can't get through.
"Zero top-10s basically in two years. To be in the prime of my career and be as good as I think I am, I think that's very pathetic, disappointing. I just need to go home and completely re-evaluate everything."

Here are some others with plenty of reasons to be unhappy with what they have achieved in 2026.
Beau Hossler
Hossler came oh so close. He needed to win the Wyndham but finished second, jumping 50 places but coming up short.
Keegan Bradley
The 2025 US Ryder Cup captain had a year to forget. He managed six top-25s but no top 10s. He said: "Yeah, it's been a tough like year and a half," he said. "I'm looking forward to getting home and resetting and coming out next year a little fresher maybe."
Tom Hoge
Two years after finishing 27th in the regular season standings, Hoge had a dreadful 2026 season in which he missed eight cuts in 24 events.
Jason Day
Day's 18-year playoff streak has come to an end. After finishing runner-up to Scottie Scheffler at the American Express in his first event of the season, he struggled with consistency and injury.
Tony Finau
A six-time winner on the PGA Tour and Ryder Cup player, Finau missed six cuts and had a solitary top 10.
Billy Horschel
The 2014 FedEx Cup Champion missed 10 cuts in 23 events this season, struggling with both his form and fitness.
Lucas Glover
After winning the 2023 Wyndham Championship, a tied 18th at the Tour Championship, and another playoff appearance in 2025, Glover could not replicate that form in 2026.
Finishing in the top 70 is a big deal. Apart from being eligible for the first of the playoff events, with a chance to make it to the Tour Championship at East Lake and the opportunity to win huge money, it guarantees a place in all the Signature Events in 2027.
So spare a thought for Steven Fisk, who finished 71st despite winning the ISCO Championship.
