Unfortunately Sliven golf course is far short of normal golf course standards. It is built on land which had been unused for many years and the soil quality is very poor and stoney. The faiways as I say are very stoney in places and we normally play preferred lies to save wrecking clubs. The fairways have no semi rough, you are on the fairway or in what can only be described as waste ground. The greens are acceptable but can be a bit bumpy in patches.
On a positive note, with only 12 members at the moment there is no problem getting a game anytime. The clubhouse has good facilities and the staff are very helpful and the girl who manages the club speaks excellent English.
