What the club says: In a beautiful setting, you can play golf in one of the best professional courses in Latin America, created by the famous designers Tom and George Fazio. It has 18 holes, par 72, with 7,116 yards.

Punishing

Over 18 months of membership, the course conditions kept declining. The greens now have spurge and water grass. The fairways are thin, weedy and bare in many places. Dead and dying trees dangerously shed limbs. The crew is hard-working, but lacking the chemicals, the tools, the machinery needed. This course is part of a tired “luxury” hotel and pseudo country club with declining membership and a punitive board. The course has a nice layout, stately trees, flowering trees, and would be a destination if well-maintained. A round went from tolerable, to frustrating, to punishing. Panama has several others delightful, well-conditioned courses.
