What the club says: Muscat Hills has been carefully crafted by the internationally acclaimed golf course designer, Paul Thomas, of Dave Thomas Associates, whose portfolio includes La Manga West (Spain), Seve Ballesteros Golf Club and the Top Players Golf Club (Japan). Natural mountainous surrounds, challenging undulating fairways, greens that require accurate approach shots and ever present natural wadis that run adjacent to a number of holes make for spectacular golf. This special topography will is home to the Region's most exciting golf. You'll likely use every club in the bag.

Could be amazing
Visited during off season so not expecting perfection but round was expensive considering one of the fairways was being excavated by 3 diggers and no real signposting offering guidance.Staff were ok and club house was nice at the end too.

It was incredibly hard to find, even with a satnav
No signs and all roads around are being rebuilt

Returned to Muscat Hills after nearly 3 years since last visiting wife's family. The course has matured a lot in that time with a marked improvements in standards of the tees, fairways and a very American style grading of cuts away from green through to rough. Still the standard of the greens is disappointing for a course which costs best part of £80 to play. Compared to newly opened Almouj course at The Wave which is the same price this course is more approachable for anyone playing off a mid to high handicap but is defiantly not up to the quality of the Almouj. Though this is not surprising considering the Almouj is a Greg Norman course!! All in all though an enjoyable and challenging place to play for anyone who can strike a fairly clean ball as there are lots of interesting holes over and running alongside wadis (deep river valleys). If you only play one course in Muscat and do not mind losing a few balls play the Almouj but for some more approachable fun play Muscat Hills
