What The Club Says
The 18-hole course has a parkland nature, but it does have some holes that have links-type turf to hit off, and a crisp strike imparts some much needed control at these points.
At just over 6000 yards (6,032), off the medal tees, the course provides a good test of golf, without being beyond the means of the ‘average’ club golfer. A par 70 and SSS 69 (Gents) 72 (Ladies) gives everyone a fair chance of playing to their handicap on every outing.

The ultimate hidden gem - the most enjoyable course I have played in y
I played at Pitreavie over 30 years ago and I had always held it in high esteem without really knowing why. I returned to this Dr Alastair MacKenzie designed course, he of Augusta fame and I can honestly say it was the most fun course to play that I can remember, even on a very windy day. The layout is exciting and interesting; it is challenging but not overly difficult and you can see elements of Augusta in the design. There is a burn that meanders through the course and is expertly used to provide challenge over many, many holes. It starts with two par 5s (the first was a par 4 30 years ago and was impossible to reach in two) and there is not another one until the 18th. A number of the greens have huge tiers in them and the rest have many natual slopes. The collection of par 3 holes are magnificent, especially the 12th, a near mirror image of the 12th at Augusta. In between there are a number of short par 4 holes but the green complexes mean they are not easy. There is lots of room off the tee but then you are challenged with your approach shots. The only complaint about the course is that some tees were a bit scrappy. The rest fo the course is first class. I enjoyed it so much I am playing again tomorrow before flying home. Can't wait!Reviewer Rating

Staff were welcoming and the pro shop was well stocked.
Strange to start with 2 par 5's but well worth it. Great layout and varied holes.

Lovely panoramic views
We played on a sunny summer's afternoon into evening, we found the course to be both challenging and interesting. The greens, especially, present the golfer with a very thorough test of their skills. The round was very enjoyable, we received a very warm welcome in the clubhouse and pro shop, I think it very likely that we will be back for another round soon.Reviewer Rating
