The Links at Monck's Landing Golf Club

Course Information

Monck's Landing is a "links-style" layout, drawing its inspiration from the classic golf courses of the British Isles: treeless, rolling terrain, pot bunkers, high fescue rough. Monck's Landing has been called the truest, most authentic expression of the links ideal in the Kawarthas region, presenting a unique golf experience sure to be appreciated by those who enjoy the history and traditions of the game. Monck's Landing's dual tee block design affords to those golfers wishing to play 18 holes a "back 9" that presents a layout both differing and distinct from that experienced the first time around.

In reasponsr to Chuck Stoppard: My husband and I purchased the course at the end of June 2015. When we took over the greens were in a horrible state due to improper care the previous year and the company hired to take care of the course before we purchased fertilizing without irrigating. It appears by the date of your review that you came just before we did the aerating and top dressing of the greens to try and bring them back. The state of the course when we took over was horrible - I completely agree. But I assure you, we worked very hard last year, and will continue to work hard in 2016 to revive the course as the layout and location makes for a great golf course! We hope you will return to see the improvements this coming season!

I returned to play the Links of Monck's Landing recently and was shocked in the terrible condition it was in, compared to how I remembered it from 4 years ago. The fescue was choked dense with weeds, the tees & fairways were seemingly uncut, and the greens looked half dead. These new owners has not done this course any favours. BIGTIME DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

I read a story in the Lindsay Post's 2010 Golf Guide about a local golf course I had never heard of being awarded a nomination for "Best New Course in Ontario" by Fairways Magazine. I finally made the half hour drive up to Norland this past summer, skeptical that the owner had bought this nomination etc. etc. Luckily I was totally wrong! I had a great time at Monck's Landing playing links golf for the first time, and I've been back there several times since with friends. A most well-deserved nomination, in this golfer's opinion.
