What the club says: With a length of 6880 m/7500 yards Madinat Makadi’s golf course is the longest in Egypt, that on the one hand is not easy to play but on the other hand the six t-boxes on every hole will give enjoyment also to the higher handicaps and especially to the ladies. The championship course will surely reach a CR/Slope between 142 and 144.
Three artificial lakes surrounded by flowers and local plants on the front nine holes are a treat for one’s eyes but also a great challenge in golf play. From 12 holes the golfer can enjoy the fantastic view to the dark blue Red Sea. The back nine holes are predominated by a desert landscape interrupted by full green fairways, tee’s and greens.

stayed at the 5 star steinberger makadi hotel which was excellent, but thought i was going to play el gouna, they are different even though the hotel at el gouna is also a steinberger hotel. played this course 5 times over the week. got a 5 day package for around 350 euros and a buggy for 100 euros. there is a decent practice area and range token needed for balls. there is a putting green and chipping green. did not see a practice bunker. the course plays very different acccording to the weather. pleasant to play when not windy but incredibly hard to play when windy. it is a new course and there is not enough protection when the wind blows like it did at over 50 mph. the greens are very fast and also very sloppy which made putting extremely difficult.according to pro this course plays at least 6 shots harder than your handicap. lessons are available staff are friendly and helpful. there are lots of areas where you will be playing of gravel or desert .
