Timeless gem
Royal Colwood is a private club over 100 years old designed by Aurthur Macan and is ranked in the top 30 courses in Canada. The design hasn't changed a lot over time and has stood the test of time. It has hosted a couple Canadian Amateur Championships in recent history and under par rounds were rare. With a half a dozen sets of tees, it can be enjoyed by all. The greens are fast and sloping and much of the course is cut through first growth forest. Conditions are first class. Even the fairways get top dressed and often when cut, they are first combed in opposite direction to improve cut quality. It has a natural quiet country setting. Although private, a call from your local pro may get you on. The kind of course that would have been wonderful a 100 years ago and will still be 100 years from now without a lot of change.Reviewer Rating
